The Archive consisting of around 10,000 <\/b>photographs mainly tells about the public side of the artist with some hints to the private and family world. The pictures have been collected throughout the life of the intellectual artist and writer and cover a time span from the early 20th century to the late 1970s. This first selection of over 1,500 photographs, achieved thanks to the public notice\u201cStrategia Fotografia 2020\u201d,<\/i>promoted and supported by the Direzione Generale Creativit\u00e0 Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura,<\/i>explores and gives account of some particularly representative thematic nuclei of the collection: the “diary” of his travels; the photographic reportages signed by international and national photographers; a series of “Portraits” of Levi made by professional photographers; his commitment to politics and social issues.<\/p>\n

The online Archive <\/b>is <\/b>is based on the xDams open source platform, <\/b>that has allowed <\/b>to deal with the description of data and metadata with scientific rigor (using the F-ICCD form), and at the same time to fill in descriptor fields and to insert keywords in order to relate themes, places, people, and institutions present in the various photographs and make the search faster and more detailed. <\/span><\/p>\n

To the user the pleasure of discovering the historical memory preserved in each photograph.<\/p>\n
